Standing out among 89 contestants of Miss Universe 2011 was Miss Angola Leila Lopes, Monday evening at Sao Paulo, Brazil. She becomes the first Angolan candidate who has won the title for this year’s most awaited pageant.

The 25-year old Miss Angola won the most prestigious crown of Miss Universe 2011 after answering her question, “If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would it be and why?” Her answer: “Thank God, I am very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I am beautiful and principled. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.” She was crowned by the former Miss Universe 2010, Miss Mexico.

Leila Lopes was born in Benguela, Angola. She’s a business management student in Great Britain and was crowned last year as Miss Angola UK.
